Marine Epoxies and Primers

Epoxies have two main areas of use in the marine environment. Firstly, because epoxy resins have superior mechanical properties compared to the more common polyester resins, they are used in the commercial manufacture of components where a high strength-to-weight ratio is required. Secondly, epoxy adheres impressively to many materials, including metal, GRP and timber, and is an effective and strong gap-filler. Because of this, epoxy resins have revolutionized amateur as well as professional boat-building and are widely used as a key component of the boat-building process.
